[Music Video Review] F(x) -- Electric Shock

Okay, so this review is a review that's ten months too late, but since I finally have incentive to start a blog, my squirrely little self decided that it would be a good idea to do a review on the music video for F(x)
s "Electric Shock", because of the fact that despite what I would usually call "another boring SM Entertainment Dance Video", Electric Shock is incredibly appealing to the eye, and despite being rather simple, makes it hard for you to look away.

The video opens up in a room that looks straight out of a rave. Cubes line the walls and a circutboard pattern sprawls across the floor, not to mention the dancing lights on the ceiling. We see the members of F(x) huddled in a corner. First off, I can tell this video was definitely part of the inspiration for VIXX's "Rock Ur Body" music video. Second off, I like how some of the cubes are colored and lit up, but the other cubes are more-or-less wire frames. The lights constantly scanning over the stage and the girls entertain me too.

Okay, so it's a pretty high quality and entertaining stage, and then we move on to the obligatory face shots of the girls and oh my god WHAT IS THIS :D?

Dinosaur earring. One dinosaur earring, and a blue streak in your hair omgomgomg yes. I love Krystal's look in this video. F(x) has always been known for their funky fashion, and although some people might criticize it, I adore it!
And then onto the main outfits for the first part of this video. We get some really interesting choreogeraphy throughout this song, but the most interesting stuff , to me, is the entire buildup to the first chorus. There's so much position changing and spinning, and Amber actually gets a lot more focus on her this time around, and even sings, sort of. Speaking of Amber....
                                                         HOLY SEXY CONTACTS.
Anyways, now that I've fanboyed over those sexy contacts, back to the main review. Around 30 seconds in, we get a taste of the second set of the music video.
I would normally complain about the obnoxious use of only one color, but the lights zapping on the walls, and the girls brightly colored outfits really make them pop against the rather plain background. Looks like SM did a good job with the costumes this time around!
Another outfit that really pops against the background, okay okay, enjoying this. However, my complaint, which happens to be about the outfits in this video that I so adore....well...let me just show you.

SULLI. YOU LOOK LIKE A CACTUS.
                                                                              LITERALLY
Then, we're introduced to the third set of the video, which is an off-white background with more popping colors, all the girls are looking as gorgeous as they could ever be, especially Victoria and Sulli (thank god they didn't leave Sulli in that awful cactus costume).
Throughout the music video, the girls also tease us with some lovely....electrical....tools?
Okay so we have two....I'm not sure if they're violet wands or cattle prods....two tasers...and a defibrillator.
Those first two are really disturbing, I mean really really disturbing. I'm pretty confident that SM doesn't know what these are, neither do the censors in Korea, because there's no way those first two things would get past the censors. I'm pretty sure that's impossible.

Anyways though if these girls ever pointed any of these 5 things at me I'd run like hell that's for sure.
And I spy someone in a SKRILLEX shirt. Also, Amber's "AC/DC" shirt. Gosh, I love watching kpop videos where I can find all these fancy little american references. I especially like the "New York" jersey.
Sulli, Victoria, Luna, Krystal, Amber, one of you girls better be representing Rhode Island in your next comeback D:

Anyways, the last minute of this video is just as standard as the past two minutes, and maybe it's just cause I'm easily distracted but all those pretty lights and costumes really appealed to me. I thought this was the most awesome video out of SM in a long time, despite being just another dance video. The final rating on this video is a 4.5/5 acorns. The reason for this being -.25 for Victoria and Luna's CREEPY items.
and -.25 because come on, you couldn't include a cool story in it? Leave comments on what I should review next :)
